Hello, my name is Kelli, age 51. Born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. I am a person in long-term recovery from substance use disorder. I have worked in the substance abuse field for many years and I am a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist for the state of Tennessee. I currently manage two halfway houses for women in Chattanooga.
For the last four years, I worked as a Behavioral Health Technician for a treatment center specializing in substance use disorder and eating disorders. This experience has well-equipped me to support clients that deal with various behavioral, mental health, and substance use disorder issues. In my early recovery, I discovered a passion for helping others and I am continuing my education to receive my bachelor’s degree in Social Work. They say that if you do something that you love that you will never work another day in your life. I have found that to be true in my own life because helping others that are struggling brings me such joy. There are many paths to recovery. Finding what works for my clients and helping them to develop their own paths is the key. In my own life, I have discovered what brings me joy. Things like gardening, hiking, and swimming. These are the things that add to my life and make my recovery evening stronger.
